Kerala "God's
Own Country" |
|
|
|
|
It is a fascinating mix of rivers, waterfalls, the sea and
backwaters, timber mills, elephants, history and culture,
temples, Ayurveda and religion, a matriarchal system and
communist leanings. Treat it as a welcome gateway, as a wildlife
haven or a therapeutic retreat.

Kerala Cuisine |
|
|
|
Known for its spicy curries and generous coconut toppings,
Kerala's local cuisine is a mouthwatering spread of vegetarian
and non-vegetarian fare. A traditional meal on a plantain leaf
must be sampled at a local Keralan home especially on festival
days.
The Muslims and Christians excel in non-vegetarian cuisine. Biriyani
which is a mouthwatering dish of rice cooked along with meat,
onions, chillies and other spices are Muslim culinary delights.
Christians have interesting recipes to make an array of fish
dishes.
